The aim of this Web Review was to analyse the material on the World
Wide Web which referred to Postwar Culture. That is, the culture
of the United States of America in the late 1940s and 1950s. I wanted
to examine not only the 'culture of conformity' but also find out what
sources were available on alternative cultural expressions of the era,
such as Cool and Bebop Jazz and Beat literature.
Therefore, this review is not in all senses a quantitive survey, but aimed
to find the 'webprints' of a range of subcultures and understand
the ways in which these are affiliated throughout this dimension of the
World Wide Web. However within each section, I have endeavoured to
give a sense of their proportional representation of the web.
